New-construction pavers come with two problems. First, efflorescence: the white chalky haze new pavers push out for their first couple of months, which must finish before sealing or it gets trapped under the coat. Second, builder-grade joint sand that the first rainy season washes straight out. We time the job right, replace the sand with polymeric, and seal while the pavers still have their original color to protect.
